Losing offensive linemen isn’t exactly what the New York Giants anticipated after a fun filled fan fest on Friday evening at MetLife Stadium. New management invested heavily in rebuilding the OL this off-season, including spending the 7th overall pick on Alabama stand out Evan Neal, and signing Mark Glowinski to a three-year, $18.3 million contract.
However, Big Blue received a bit of bad news on Saturday afternoon, announcing that fifth-round rookie Marcus McKethan tore his ACL on Friday night during the team scrimmage.

An unfortunate blow for the New York Giants:
McKethan is coming from UNC, along with fellow teammate Josh Ezuedu, who featured at left guard and left tackle last season. McKethan is a three-year starter who offers premium size at guard but is projected as an average backup or special-teams contributor.
At the very least, McKethan wasn’t expected to start any games this upcoming season, but his development and growth will take a hit after tearing his ACL. The Giants will lose a little bit of depth and a potential special teams player, two replaceable spots. The Giants would rather provide their rookies with experience and reps rather than dumpster diving on the free agent market for fillers.
