One of the New York Jets’ big additions in the busy 2022 offseason was the signing of tight-end Tyler Conklin. Conklin is coming off a career year. It was one in which he was finally a primary target in the passing game. He will look to build upon last year’s success as he turns 27 this Saturday.

During his time with the Minnesota Vikings, Conklin was a part of a playoff team in 2019 that won a playoff game.

New locker room culture:

The Jets new tight end met with the media today as veterans reported to training camp. He spoke glowingly about the types of people his new teammates are and what the culture in the locker room is like, “The bonds that have been built for me just in OTA’s… I’ve built a lot of closer bonds in this time in OTA’s than I did in a couple of years in Minnesota, and I think that just goes to show the culture they’ve built.”

On adjusting to a whole new team, Conklin also spoke about his teammates aiding him in the transition by saying, “It’s been easier because of the locker room we have here.”

Lastly, on Conklin, he had nothing but great things to say about second-year quarterback Zach Wilson. He raved about the work ethic that Wilson has. Conklin talked about the talent Wilson has. Finally, he stated the young signal-caller was one of the reasons why he signed with the Jets.

Along with Conklin, several other Jets met with the media earlier today. Among them Quinnen Williams, Alijah Vera-Tucker, C.J. Mosley, and DJ Reed. Similar to Conklin, a few of these players elaborated on their new teammates and the work that they put in.

Williams and Vera-Tucker both discussed working with their new teammates at their position groups this offseason. Williams trained with new Jets edge defender, Jermaine Johnson. He had great things to say about the talent the rookie has. Vera-Tucker stated that he and new left guard Laken Tomlinson both trained together as well. Vera-Tucker described it as “good work” and said that he “got a lot out of it.”
