New York Jets wide receiver Braxton Berrios joined Jet fan Rich Eisen on his show Wednesday, July 20th. The two discussed a few of the main things for the Jets entering this year. Among them, the youth from last year growing, the exciting free agent and draft classes from this offseason, and what the expectation ultimately is for the 2022 Jets.
Berrios talked about the young roster the Jets fielded in 2021 and how they have developed with more experience. Obviously, he was asked about second-year signal-caller Zach Wilson. He talked about Wilson’s comfortability during the second half of last year. On where Wilson is at now, he stated, the growth is “very apparent.”
On the additions made this offseason between free agency and the draft, Berrios described those transactions as “key pieces.” With those new players, Berrios went on to state that “we fully understand that we have everything that we truly need” and that now it simply comes down to “executing consistently within the system.” Berrios summed up the Jets draft of Sauce Gardner, Garrett Wilson, Jermaine Johnson, and Breece Hall as “awesome” and said that the front office “crushed it” and “gave us all the tools and the pieces we need” to ultimately win games.

With all of the exciting skill talent the Jets have, Hall and Michael Carter, Elijah Moore, Wilson, Corey Davis, and himself, along with Tyler Conklin, CJ Uzomah, and Jeremy Ruckert, Berrios said the Jets do not need Wilson to be “supernatural” in year two to be successful.
2022 expectations for the New York Jets:
Berrios said Gang Green has “all the tools” to be a playoff team in 2022. He stated, “If we don’t get there, obviously it’s a failed season to everybody in the building, especially us players.” Berrios concluded by saying, “We’re absolutely looking to go to the playoffs. That’s the hope, that’s the goal, and we’re going to do everything in our power to make it happen.”
