As the New York Giants enter the 2022 season, all eyes are on the hopeful growth of fourth-year quarterback Daniel Jones. With new head coach Brian Daboll and his past success, there is optimism Jones can start to put it all together for the Giants.
The talent around Jones is improved. A healthy Saquon Barkley, Kadarius Toney, Kenny Golladay, and Sterling Shepard, hopefully being available throughout this year should make a difference. Along with Daboll, new additions in Evan Neal, Wan’Dale Robinson, and Mark Glowinski give the Giants an improved supporting cast for Jones.
For Jones, developing relatively fast in yet another scheme, his third in four years, is also crucial to seeing his growth.

Jones on his progress with the New York Giants:
Jones recently spoke on his own development with more time now in the league. He stated, “I think going into year four, I’m a more experienced player, I think I’m a better player than in years past. So, I feel more comfortable from that standpoint and from what I’m seeing and making decisions.”
Further elaborating on his comfortability with more experience and how things have been in Coach Daboll’s offense to this point, “And as it relates to this offense and this scheme, it gives a quarterback a lot of options, and it allows for a quarterback to use what he knows and distribute the ball based on that. So, I’ve enjoyed working in this offense so far, and like I said, we’ve got a lot of work to do. But it’s been fun working with coach Daboll and his staff and working in this offense.”
On continuing to grow within the new system, Jones stated, “I’m getting more comfortable every day, I think. We’re still early in the process. We’ve got a lot of work to do. That’s certainly my mindset, I think that’s coach Daboll’s mindset and the whole group’s mindset. We’ve got a lot of work to do, and we’re eager to do it. I’m comfortable and continuing to work to get more comfortable.”
