The long-awaited update surrounding the health of New York Jets QB Zach Wilson has finally been reported on. The New York Jets second-year quarterback underwent successful arthroscopic surgery earlier today in which no further damage to his knee was found. It was the exact outcome that the Jets had initially anticipated.

The news is by far the best possible outcome for the Jets to get. As a result, there is a chance that Wilson plays for the Jets in Week 1. Reports from multiple sources indicate that the Jets will by no means rush him back though. The team wants to wait until Wilson is 100% to put him on the field.

The recovery time is reportedly 2-4 weeks. Opening day for the Jets is a little less than four weeks away. If needed, the Jets have expressed and ultimately have confidence in Joe Flacco if he is needed to start a couple of games.

Chances of good results like this Friday night could not have seemed slimmer. It looked like Wilson’s second year may be in complete jeopardy. With the great news now, we will get to watch Wilson for most of if not all of 2022.
