The New York Knicks announced Friday that they are waiving Quinton Rose and M.J. Walker.

And just like that, the Knicks have opened up two more spots five days before training camp.

Rose and Walker played for the Knicks team that reached the NBA Summer League Finals in Las Vegas back in July. They are expected to head back to the Westcherter Knicks in the G League.

Rose averaged 7.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 31 games at Westchester last season while Walker normed 10.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 39 games, including 21 starts. Walker briefly joined the Phoenix Suns last December on a COVID-19 hardship deal before returning to Westchester.

The Knicks can add two more players on Exhibit 9 or 10 deals heading into Tuesday’s training camp. But they need to trim down the roster to 17 (15 on the standard roster and two two-way players).

Feron Hunt and Trevor Keels, who both saw action for the Knicks in the NBA Summer League, are occupying their two-way spots.

Svi Mykhailiuk and Ryan Arcidiacono are expected to round up the Knicks’ opening night roster barring any trade or major free-agent additions. Both are signed to partially guaranteed minimum veteran deals.
