About Alder Almo

Alder Almo is a veteran sports journalist from the basketball-crazy Philippines and now lives in Jersey City. He previously covered the top local and international sports for Philstar.com, the online arm of one of the Philippines' leading newspapers, from 2011 to 2016. A well-traveled journalist, he has covered the Asian Games twice; Manny Pacquiao fights and continues to follow their national basketball team, Gilas Pilipinas. He remains an NBA contributing writer. He also served as an assistant editor for the inaugural NBA Philippines website from 2011 to 2013. He grew up watching Michael Jordan stake his claim as the GOAT and Allen Iverson changing the culture in the NBA. Now, he's watching LeBron chase the ghost of No. 23. He dreams of covering the first homegrown Filipino talent in the NBA one day. He believes that will happen in his lifetime.
