It’s safe to say that the New York Jets would be a happier team with superstar Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver DaVante Adams on their roster.

The Jets have a star-studded offensive lineup including a pair of wideouts in Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams who will both be threats to contend for 1,000 REC yards in 2024 and a running back in Breece Hall who is due for another breakout campaign.

Despite that, their featured weapons want more and are willing to put their egos aside for the sake of winning. Hall and Wilson want Adams to give their aerial attack an element that could set it apart in the Super Bowl race next season.

Breece Hall wants to see the Jets make a run for DaVante Adams

As CBS Sports’ Bryan DeArdo shared, Hall had this to say to Kay Adams about the bubbling rumors surrounding the Raiders’ top pass-catcher and the Jets on the “Up and Adams Show”:

“I think we should (go all-in),” Hall said when asked about the possibility of acquiring Adams. “I’m on board. I mean, with him, with Garrett and Mike Williams. Just pick your poison. Do you want me to beat you, or do you want those two beating you with Aaron. Pick your poison.”

Adams could help New York most with their red zone execution. He twice led the league in receiving touchdowns in 2020 and 2022. Though he saw a downturn in his output with only eight catches in the end zone in 2023, the California native’s potential reunion with his former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers at MetLife Stadium could lead to an explosion in the passing game in the upcoming campaign.

The former second-round draft pick finished second in the NFL in red zone targets (29), third in air yards (1,896 yards), and first in unrealized air yards (1,088 yards), proving that he can open up New York’s offense and come down with the pigskin in key scoring situations.

Wilson understands this, which is why he seconded Hall’s take, as Brian Costello of the New York Post published (h/t DeArdo):

“I see that. I’m excited. I’m with all of it,” Wilson said, via the New York Post. “Anyone we can get into the facility to help this team win games, I’m with it and he’s one of those.”

Considering the fact that Wilson is the Jets’ WR1 and is being projected to contend for a Pro Bowl nod and even All-Pro considerations in 2024, his selflessness speaks volumes.

If there was any quarterback not named reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes that could make the Jets’ offense run smoothly with the abundance of weapons they are pleading for, it’s Rodgers. The front office will have to decide if going all in for Adams is the final move that can make them Super Bowl favorites.
