The exciting news all New York Jets fans wanted to hear. Duane Brown has been activated from IR. He is set to start for the Jets at left tackle tomorrow.

It was also just announced by the Jets that rookie right tackle Max Mitchell is going to IR. Mitchell sustained a knee injury in Week 4 and did not practice this week. He will miss at least four games.

The other move just made by the Jets worth noting is that linebacker Hamsah Nasirildeen was promoted from the practice squad once again. At linebacker, the Jets are currently a bit banged up. Quincy Williams (ankle) is set to miss his second straight game as he did not practice this week. Marcell Harris (neck) is listed as questionable but did practice as a full participant Thursday and Friday.

Alijah Vera-Tucker on the move yet again for the New York Jets:

One key takeaway from the Brown news being official is that Alijah Vera-Tucker will once again start at a different position. After starting the first three games of this year at right guard, he started last week at left tackle. Now he seems likely to start at right tackle.

The Jets have stated that they will play the best five offensive linemen they have. It is a luxury they can maximize thanks to not only Vera-Tucker’s positional flexibility but his willingness to adapt anywhere on the fly.

From left tackle to right tackle, expect Brown, Laken Tomlinson, Connor McGovern, Nate Herbig, and Vera-Tucker.

Finally, at 37, Brown deserves to be commended for working himself back as soon as possible. Having him available for tomorrow certainly makes some things easier up front for the Jets’ offense.
