With one week left to play and no chance of making the playoffs, the New York Jets have many injured players who were ruled out for the season finale earlier today by Robert Saleh.

New York Jets QB will be Joe Flacco to conclude the 2022 season:

After returning last week, Mike White, with his rib injury, will be sidelined for the last week of the 2022 season. Coach Saleh announced at his morning press conference that 15-year veteran, Joe Flacco will be the starter to conclude the year.

It was fairly clear in Sunday’s game at Seattle that White was not himself with his injury, missing throws he had proven to make consistently in his first three starts. Knowing the Jets have nothing to play for this final week, it is only right to hold him out. White did pop up as a limited participant on yesterday’s injury report, leading Jets fans to speculate that was the first step toward shutting him down for Week 18.

Flacco now gets his fourth start of the season. He started the Jets’ first three games of the year, throwing for 901 yards, five touchdowns to three interceptions, leading the Jets to a 1-2 record. This could very well be the last start of Flacco’s Super Bowl-winning career.

In other injury news, the Jets shut down three starting offensive linemen, George Fant, Duane Brown, and Nate Herbig, for the year. The three deserve credit for clearly batting all season. Both Fant and Brown had their weekly routine of being limited participants, clearly playing in games banged up. Herbig was initially playing with one calf pulled before the other recently did as well, Saleh shared with the media this morning.

The one to recently fill in for Herbig at right guard, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, also did not practice Wednesday or Thursday. As a result, Dan Feeney will likely get the start at right guard in this one. The two tackles will be Cedric Ogbuehi and Mike Remmers.
