New York Jets star inside linebacker Quincy Williams knows exactly what he needs to do this offseason to improve his game for the 2024 NFL campaign.
Williams declared that he wants to bring down more interceptions next season. In order to do so, he’s committed to sharpening up his hand-eye coordination, as Anthony Liccardi of Fan Nation’s Jets Country shared:
“The biggest thing I’ve been working on is turnovers this year,” Williams said. “I think I dropped like seven interceptions, only got one of them last year. Working on my hands, hand-eye coordination, finding the air behind the ball when I’m punching it out and then just really being a leader this year and not just playing the role.”
Jets: Quincy Williams’ improved coordination could see him explode in 2024
Dropping seven potential interceptions is quite a figure for any defender to put up. Williams notched his first career interception in 2023, and the seven opportunities he referred to likely stem from his career-high 10 passes defended that season. He punched the football well with two forced fumbles and good aggression to go along with those peripherals.
The Alabama native is now out to sharpen up so that he can bring more takeaways to the house in 2024. He earned an astounding 81.1 player grade from Pro Football Focus on the previous campaign and should he make good on the improvements he’s after, can establish himself as one of the premier linebackers in the NFL.

Williams will be one of several Jets defenders with a microscope on them next year
The success of New York’s front seven will largely hang on his shoulders, as well as Haason Reddick and Quinnen Williams. Opposite C.J. Mosley at LB, Williams will be one of several Jets to watch this season.
The Jets sported a top-10 defense in 2023. Some analysts even viewed them as the best unit in the league. Williams can help them retain that spot by assisting the secondary in taking away promising looks in mid-yardage territory while standout defensive backs Sauce Gardner, Chuck Clark, and D.J. Reed roam in the secondary.
