Reflecting back to the days where general manager Dave Gettleman headed the front office for the Carolina Panthers, we can recall a specific fight that ensued. Odell Beckham Jr. vs Josh Norman, one of the more negative memories actualized by the former New York Giants wide receiver’s career.

That very same year, Gettleman rescinded the franchise tag from the talented corner. Clearly, those emotions stuck with Norman as he proceeded to sign with the Washington Redskins. This past offseason, former Big Blue star Landon Collins joined the secondary.

Gettleman made some rash decisions throughout the draft period, surprisingly passing on Dwayne Haskins in favor of Daniel Jones.

When Norman was questioned about Haskins, he stated:

“Oh my god, don’t even do that. Everybody in the world connected those dots. We have an alliance with that guy,” Norman said of Gettleman. “I think we need to put him on salary. They need to protect Dave Gettleman at all costs up in New York, that’s for sure.”

From his perspective, the Giants are helping Washington succeed, but from mine, the secondary has been built out, the offensive line has been renovated, and a successor for Eli Manning is in place. Maybe, just maybe, it’s time for Norman to start putting his money where his mouth is.
