Good Morning, New York Giants Fans!

The New York Giants are headed towards the Mariana Trench, the deepest place on Earth. That’s if you haven’t seen John Mara’s wallet of never-ending dead-cap catastrophes. The Giants currently sit at 2-10 on the season with nothing but rookie silver linings to outline a porous year.

Rookie passer Daniel Jones has headlined the best of the current campaign for Big Blue, as his development on the field has been progressing. Despite his monster turnover number, his accuracy and success without a capable offensive line have been impressive. He currently has three four-score games this season, which only scratches the surface on his potential.

However, Jones is manning an abandoned ship at 2-10, which begs the question:

Should Eli Manning get one final farewell game?

Running back Saquon Barkley commented on the matter during a charity event:

“Eli has done so much for this city and if this would be his last season, I wouldn’t be upset if I saw him get a play or two,” Barkley expressed. “I think that would be pretty cool for him to go off on the right note.”

The idea of seeing Manning one last time in week 17 sits well with me and I suspect most of the fanbase. It would guarantee his departure in free agency and end an era that brought Giants fans two Super Bowl wins and some of the greatest moments the game has ever seen.

While the idea of Manning saying his farewell in-game, sounds perfect, his style is one of humbleness and respect. I expect him to walk through the tunnel one final time in Blue, but to let Jones finish out the season as the transition was always meant to be.
