New York Giants: Is there a position battle at quarterback? (PODCAST)

New York Giants

A collection of New York Giants players.

Is it possible that the New York Giants have created a position battle at the quarterback position between Eli Manning and Daniel Jones? It’s highly unlikely Jones manages to overtake Eli for the starting job, considering he’s expected to sit quietly and soak up as much knowledge as humanly possible over the course of the next year.

However, head coach Pat Shurmur stated that Eli must win games to keep Jones off the field, so there’s a chance the rookie passer could feature at some point this season.

I believe that the Giants need to stick with logic on this specific decision – allowing Jones to develop and learn how to prepare at the NFL level is essential. Sitting behind a two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback should get the job done. Daniel is already showing great progress, throwing accurately and keeping far away from the New York media.

In fact, that might be the more valuable lesson he learns from Eli — how to stay out of troubles and not draw unnecessary attention to yourself. Minus the selling of fake game-work memorabilia, Manning has been a saint for the Giants. Now, he must teach the young Jones how to succeed in the art of magic.

The podcast below will walk you through the process of his development and if there’s any form of position battle present on the Giants at the quarterback position. In addition, we take a look at undrafted tight end CJ Conrad and DeAndre Baker. We wrap up with a bit of Golden Tate and Sterling Shepard.

You can listen to analysis and a breakdown of the Giants’ OTAs and essential debates from Empire Sports Media Giants beat reporters Alexander Wilson, Anthony Rivardo, and Christian Morell below, in the latest episode of Keeping Up With The Gmen!
