The New York Giants put out the official injury report for Week 15 today. Daniel Jones has officially been ruled out, which means Eli Manning will make his fourth start of the season.

The 2-11 New York Giants will be home this week, hosting the 3-10 Miami Dolphins. The Giants are on a franchise record-tying 9 game losing streak and are looking to end that against another lowly opponent.

This is expected to be Eli Manning’s last home game as a member of the New York Giants. Daniel Jones was limited in practice next week and, while nothing is for certain, he is expected to be back as the starter in Week 16. But this week, Giants fans should enjoy and savor every last moment of Eli’s performance in what could be his last time playing football in a Giants blue jersey.

Could We See Eli Play Again?

While it is expected that Daniel Jones will make his return before the season’s end, there is no guarantee. Head coach Pat Shurmur noted that Eli could end up playing in the Giants’ last two games as well.

After this week’s matchup with the Miami Dolphins, the Giants will have to divisional games to close out the year. First, they will travel to Washington D.C. to face off against the currently 3-10 Redskins. Then the Giants’ season will come to a close at home hosting the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17.

This is most certainly Eli’s last season as a member of the New York Giants. The franchise legend’s time playing football in the New York/New Jersey area is coming to a close. Manning has not publicly stated whether or not he will play elsewhere in 2020, but after a strong showing against the Eagles in Week 14, it would not be surprising to see Eli explore his options this offseason.
