Over the last four weeks, New York Giants star running back Saquon Barkley, has seen a significant drop-off in production.

On the ground, Barkley has totaled just 152 yards rushing. An average of 38 yards per game. As a receiver, he has posted just 64 yards over this recent stretch, giving him a total of 216 scrimmage yards (54 per game). Simply put, nowhere near good enough for a Giants offense lacking in talent at wide receiver and tight end.

The Giants have gone winless over this rough four-game stretch from Barkley. Still, in the midst of the playoff hunt, though, they have a chance and need Barkley now more than ever throughout his five-year tenure with the Giants.

Giants’ Saquon Barkley comments on personal expectations to end the year:

Barkley’s recent struggles do not take away from the wonderful year he has had for the Giants. Throughout the first nine games of this season, Barkley has shown everyone just how talented he is and that he can take games over. He enters Week 15 with 1,083 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the year.

On his thoughts of his recent lack of production and now entering the final stretch of 2022, Barkley recently had this to say.

“My perspective on that is: Try to make a change. Try to be helpful. Try to make plays. That’s where I feel like I’ve got to get back to. I feel like I’ve been lacking the last couple of weeks — being the guy, and making explosive plays, especially when it matters most.

Everything is at stake for this Giants football team which has far surpassed expectations this season. Now, though, with a chance to make the playoffs right there, the Giants need their best players to rise up, and they have few better than Barkley.
