The New York Giants continue to seek reinforcements for their offensive line after the first night of the 2023 NFL Draft. Having selected CB Deonte Banks in the first round, the Giants may consider enhancing their offensive line on the second day. University of Florida offensive guard prospect O’Cyrus Torrence could emerge as a prime target for the Giants in the second round.

Reasons for the Giants to Target O’Cyrus Torrence
O’Cyrus Torrence ranks among the leading interior offensive linemen in this year’s draft class. As he remains available entering the second day, Torrence is likely to be in high demand on Friday evening.
Torrence excels as a physical run-blocker. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 331 pounds, he is an imposing presence capable of moving defensive linemen off the line of scrimmage. Although he may not be the most outstanding athlete, Torrence’s technical prowess and strength equip him well for competing at the next level.
Over 1,501 career pass sets, Torrence conceded no sacks and only one quarterback hit during his tenure at Florida, according to Pro Football Focus. In the past season, PFF ranked him as the highest-graded guard in college football.
Entering the 2023 season, the Giants’ starting left guard position remains up for grabs. Ben Bredeson, Shane Lemieux, and Joshua Ezeudu will all vie for the role, but introducing another young talent to the contest could benefit the Giants. Should the Giants draft O’Cyrus Torrence, he would stand a genuine chance of securing the starting position. As such, he ought to be a primary target for New York on the second day of the draft.
