In the New York Giants’ convincing 38-10 victory, clinching a playoff berth Sunday, young star pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux recorded a sack late in the first half that forced Nick Foles to exit.

The Colts quarterback was convulsing on the field and had to be carted off. Colts head coach Jeff Saturday stated to the media yesterday that Foles is feeling “really sore” and ruled him out for this week.

On the play that Foles got injured, Thibodeaux got the fourth sack of his rookie season. After bringing Foles down hard, Thibodeaux proceeded to celebrate by doing snow angels, which sparked loads of controversy.

Jeff Saturday sounds off on Giants rookie Kayvon Thibodeaux:

When Saturday met with reporters yesterday, he did not hold back his frustration with Thibodeaux.

“Tasteless, from the celebration afterward. Just trash. Not a fan of it at all. Disappointed from the o-line perspective and for teammates in general. We protect our own.”

Thibodeaux stated after the game that he did not notice Foles was down injured.

“I think, when I did realize he was hurt, we started getting up. When you’re doing the celebration, you’re not looking to see who’s doing what. I hope he gets well and I hope he’s all right, obviously.”

When Giants head coach, Brian Daboll, met with the media for his press conference yesterday, he reiterated that Thibodeaux did not know Foles was hurt or intended to be disrespectful to him.

Thibodeaux has been noticeably making more and more impact plays week by week for the Giants as his rookie season has progressed. With the team now gearing up for postseason play, the continued splash plays from Thibodeaux will be needed.
