The Golden State Warriors were recently ranked in the bottom half of the NBA’s latest power rankings.
Warriors rank outside of the top 15 teams after a down week

NBA.com’s John Schuhmann placed the Warriors at No. 19 among all teams, saying this in part about the week they just had:
“Draymond Green has played just three minutes over the last eight games, and the Warriors have unsurprisingly seen some defensive slippage. They’ve allowed 121.1 points per 100 possessions over the last six, including 129.4 per 100 after halftime. They blew a 19-point lead in Sacramento and saw their game against the Lakers get away early in the third quarter on Saturday,” Schuhmann said.
“The other end of the floor has been the larger issue, with the Warriors having seen the league’s eighth-biggest drop in points per 100 possessions (-5.2) from last season when they ranked ninth offensively. Stephen Curry may be feeling the offensive burden he’s been trying to carry, having shot just 40% (33% from 3-point range) over his last eight games.”
Warriors could not climb out of slump amid 1-3 stretch

Golden State went 1-3 last week. They got blown out by 40 points by the Boston Celtics on Jan. 20, before losing by six points to the Sacramento Kings on Jan. 22. They picked up their lone victory of the week — a 25-point thrashing of the Chicago Bulls on Jan. 23 — before closing out their stretch with another defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers on Jan. 25, that time by 10 points.
Just when the Warriors looked like they were getting ready to turn the corner, they fell victim to another poor stretch which plummeted them to 22-23 on the campaign. This is now the third time that Golden State has fallen below .500 on the year, all three instances of which have come in the month of January.

Warriors will look to rebound with 2 stars nearing return
At this juncture of the season, with the All-Star break right around the corner, the franchise appears to greatly need another talent to help them elevate from their slide. Teams that were ranked ahead of them in the power rankings include the Miami Heat (No. 16), Orlando Magic (No. 17), and Detroit Pistons (No. 18). All three franchises sit at or above .500 and have shown signs of life after midseason adversity.
Encouragingly, the Warriors hope to get Draymond Green back from a leg injury soon and are awaiting the return of rising star Jonathan Kuminga, who is expected to remain sidelined for roughly three more weeks with an ankle infirmity.
