The New York Yankees got off to a hot start on Thursday evening against the Baltimore Orioles, earning a 5-0 lead in the first inning. Giancarlo Stanton started off the run production with a single to left field, which scored a run. Shortly after, Hicks walked the bases loaded and Luke Voit stepped up to the plate.

Voit smashed a grand slam to left field, blowing the game open in the first inning. The Orioles’ pitcher, John Means, had nearly 40 pitches in the first inning.

Voit, who has two home runs on the season, entered the game with just one hit through three games. He replaced Mike Ford in the lineup, who started on Wednesday against the Orioles.

Here’s the awesome video of the grand slam.
