Following former New York Yankees outfielder Clint Frazier is like following a 1990’s sitcom. Everywhere the man goes, he does something even more egregious to curate a bunch of laughs. The latest news is changing his name from Clint to “Jackson,” which is his middle name.
After a two-hit game last night, had a nice chat with @clintfrazier. Learned that he wants us to go by his middle name, Jackson, moving forward.
Apparently, family and friends refer to him as Jackson and even his Cubs teammates in big leagues called him that.
Jackson Frazier.

A few nights ago, Frazier put together a two-hit performance, suddenly justifying telling the world that he prefers to go by Jackson, another twist in the saga of a once promising prospect.
- Yankees ‘considering’ 4 star players if they miss out on Juan Soto
- Yankees could target $27.5 million Chicago lefty as potential first base solution
- Yankees’ captain earns second career AL MVP award
The story of Clint Frazier is once packed full of lessons:
After years of trying to get the most out of Frazier, the Yankees designated him for assignment this past off-season, where he eventually went on to sign with the Chicago Cubs on a one-year, $1.5 million deal. So far this season, Frazier is sitting at .216 with one RBI at a 24.4% strikeout rate.
Frazier has only enjoyed 45 plate appearances at the MLB level this year, spending the majority of his time with Chicago’s Triple-A affiliate in Iowa. Over 47 plate appearances there, Frazier hosts a .205 average with six RBIs and a 34% on-base rate.
Maybe shifting his name to Jackson will help him forget the past, but that doesn’t stop him from taking shots of the Yankees every chance he gets. Recently, Frazier made a few comments about his former team prior to the Cubs traveling to the Bronx. A few hours later, Chicago announced he was being sent down to Triple-A, once again teaching him a lesson to stay humble.
“You had to be a cookie-cutter version to be on that team,” he continued of the Yankees. “If not, then you were like a really bad distraction, it seemed like. So I don’t miss being told how I had to look for the last five years.”
