New York Rangers center Ryan Strome suffered a pelvis injury midway through the regular season, and Barclay Goodrow was dealing with a fractured bone in his ankle.

New York Rangers center Ryan Strome suffered a pelvic injury that progressively worsened through the playoffs. He will find out tomorrow if surgery is needed to repair the injury.

Barclay Goodrow was dealing with a fractured ankle injury that never had the time to heal to get him back to 100 percent.

UFA

Strome, 28 years old, will become an unrestricted free agent once the Stanley Cup Finals conclude.

He has been with the Rangers since November 2018, when he was acquired in a trade with the Edmonton Oilers for Ryan Spooner. He has played in 263 games recording 195 points (71G, 124A).  During this time, he has had Artemi Panarin as his linemate.

Strome has said he made it clear to the Rangers that he wants to re-sign with them,

“Obviously, my heart is here. The last four years, I’ve poured my heart into this… We’ll see what happens. I’m getting emotional talking about it… I want to be a New York Ranger. I’ve made that clear to them. My Firsst choice is to be a New York Ranger.”

He wanted to try to play through the pain, which he couldn’t, as was evident in Game 6.

Fractured Ankle

Goodrow, 29, suffered a fracture in his ankle bone that won’t require surgery. The second shot he blocked, the one from Hedman, hit the same spot. “It didn’t reinjure it, but it didn’t feel good.”

He missed 11 games in the postseason before returning late in the second round to spark the Rangers to a seven-game victory.

“Your best lesson comes from disappointment.” said Goodrow

He had been a part of the last two Stanley Cup Championships teams with the Lightning and understood the growing pains that precede lifting Lord Stanley’s Cup.
