In the midst of yesterday’s frustrating performance, a game in which the New York Mets lost 6-0, the loss of Brandon Nimmo was an even greater concern. He left the game with tightness in his left quad.
Following Wednesday’s game that wrapped up a series in Milwaukee, the Mets had stated that Nimmo would get an MRI today.

New York Mets get great news on Brandon Nimmo:
The Mets just shared the update on Nimmo, and it was a good one. The images from the MRI came back clean on his left quad. Nimmo is ruled as day-to-day.
Certainly, some news that can allow the Mets to breathe deeply. The Mets outfield is already hurting with the recent loss of Starling Marte, who is hopeful for a return soon. Having Nimmo miss an extended period of time near the end of this battle with the Atlanta Braves for the NL East, could have severely impacted the Mets.
The Mets showdown with the Braves, which may very well determine the division winner, is a week from tomorrow. With Nimmo being day-to-day, his chances seem likely that he will be good to go for the Braves series.
Coming up for the Mets is a three-game series with the 55-94 Oakland Athletics on the road and then two with the Miami Marlins at Citi Field before the Braves. The Mets’ lead on the Braves is only one game. Hopefully, with things too close for comfort, Nimmo is able to play for the Mets as soon as possible.
