The New York Knicks secured their third consecutive win in the Summer League on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Atlanta Hawks 90–82. This victory marks an improvement over their narrow win against the Detroit Pistons, showcasing a more complete team performance.

Rokus Jokubaitis Shines in Knicks’ Lineup

Among the standout players, former second-round pick Rokus Jokubaitis delivered an impressive performance, playing 23 minutes and scoring 12 points on 4-7 shooting, including a perfect 2-2 from beyond the arc. He also added five rebounds and five assists to his tally. Despite accruing six turnovers, Jokubaitis led the team with a +18 plus/minus, highlighting his impact on the game.

Mixed Results from Knicks’ Rookies

Tyler Kolek, a second-round rookie, contributed six assists and six points, shooting 2-8 from the field, with both baskets coming from three-point range. In contrast, first-round pick Pacome Dadiet had a tougher game, scoring only four points on 1-6 shooting. Meanwhile, Ariel Hukporti, selected 58th overall in the latest draft, made a solid defensive impact with 10 points, seven rebounds, and a block.

Strong Bench Contributions Enhance Team Performance

Dmytro Skapintsev, a former undrafted center, added nine points and four rebounds in just 12 minutes, successfully converting 3-4 free throws. His performance, along with others from the bench, played a crucial role in the Knicks’ dominant win.

Knicks’ Roster Considerations and Future Moves

While Jokubaitis has had several impressive outings this Summer League and is vying for a roster spot, the Knicks’ recent signing of Cameron Payne to bolster depth behind Jalen Brunson, along with Tyler Kolek and Miles McBride, might complicate his inclusion.

With the roster nearing completion, the Knicks are still considering bolstering their big-man rotation and are in talks with Precious Achiuwa about a potential return under a more affordable deal than his qualifying offer.
