The New York Knicks are set to welcome back Jalen Brunson against Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns to start the new year.

The team announced Brunson’s availability less than an hour before Monday’s matinee 3 p.m. tipoff.

Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News was the first to report Brunson’s availability.

The Knicks also announced that veteran guard Derrick Rose would sit out with a contused left knee. The 34-year-old Rose has returned to the rotation in the past three games after Brunson and RJ Barrett went down with injuries. Rose averaged four points and one assist in 13 minutes off the bench since his return to the rotation.

Meanwhile, Barrett remains out with a lacerated right index finger along with Obi Toppin (non-displaced fracture right fibula head).

The 20-17 Suns, coming off back-to-back losses, will be without key players Devin Booker (left groin strain) and Cam Johnson (torn right meniscus).
