New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson has built a reputation as one of the NBA’s best rim protectors and rebounders. However, he has also built a reputation as an injury-prone player whose availability hinders his team. Recently, Robinson took to Snapchat to address his narratives.
Mitchell Robinson shares a post in an attempt to debunk injury-prone claims
Sharing a screenshot of his games played in every season on Snapchat, the seven-footer posted, “[I don’t know] why I looked this up but…for people to say l’m always ‘injured’ only had 2 years of my career where I didn’t play more than half the season the other 4 seasons I played more than half the year,” said Robinson (h/t New York Basketball on X). “But it’s okay I got something cooking up.”
For the Knicks, only half of the regular season may not be quite the benchmark the team is hoping for with Robinson. He has appeared in at least 66 games in a full season just twice in his six-year career and has missed considerable amounts of time during the Knicks’ three playoff appearances since 2021.

Robinson’s impact on the court is undeniable despite the injury concerns
When on the court, there is no denying Robinson’s dominant rebounding and defensive abilities. Robinson was building a strong case to make an All-Defense team prior to his foot injury. Additionally, Robinson was averaging 10.3 rebounds per game before the injury and was amongst the league leaders in offensive rebounds.
With the departure of C Isaiah Hartenstein to the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Knicks will need their longest-tenured player to stay healthy next season. The Knicks will enter next season as potential title contenders, and a full season of Robinson’s impact could have profound effects on the Knicks’ chances of winning an NBA Championship.
