The New York Jets have suffered some recent injuries from players who round out their wide receiver group. As of now, they only have four healthy going into Sunday’s game with Garrett Wilson, Elijah Moore, Corey Davis, and Braxton Berrios. Denzel Mims was limited yesterday, and Jeff Smith has missed time over the last two weeks.
With some unknowns when it comes to the depth at the position, the Jets recently made a move. Joe Douglas signed Malik Taylor to the practice squad. To make room for Taylor, the Jets released linebacker Kai Nacua.

New York Jets’ new WR Malik Taylor:
Taylor comes to the Jets having familiarity with offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur’s brother, Matt. Taylor spent time over the last four years with the Green Bay Packers.
The 27-year-old has played in 25 games, all in 2020 and 2021. He caught seven passes for 80 yards and one touchdown over those two years.
Most of his playing time over the last two seasons came on special teams (313 snaps). With Smith still out along with Brandin Echols, there could be a chance the Jets use Taylor as a gunner on the punt coverage team with Justin Hardee.
Whether it be at wide receiver or on special teams, the Jets are a bit banged up. Taylor can provide some immediate depth to either phase for the Jets.
