It is officially game week for the first time in 2022 for the New York Jets. As the first game of the year looms, the big question is who will be the starting quarterback.
Earlier, around noon today, head coach Robert Saleh met with the media. The first question he was asked was about who will be under center to start the regular season. Saleh shared this:
“Well we put Zach through a workout today. Looked good. Felt good. We’re going to see how the knee responds today and tomorrow and we’ll have an answer for everybody on Wednesday.”
Saleh followed up by saying, “Yeah, possible,” on the likelihood of Wilson playing in Week 1 this Sunday. He stated that Wilson did both some throwing and running today.

DJ Reed injury update:
DJ Reed has missed some time over the last few weeks. He had been dealing with a hamstring. Today, Saleh said that Reed is dealing with a knee injury. He, too, went through a workout this morning and by Wednesday, the team will have a better idea in terms of his status for Sunday.
2022 New York Jets captains announced:
Lastly, the three captains for the 2022 New York Jets were announced earlier today. One captain was voted on by their teammates from each phase, offense, defense, and special teams. Those three were Zach Wilson, C.J. Mosley, and Justin Hardee, all who happened to be captains a year ago as well.
The fourth captain will be a week-to-week thing in which the coaching staff picks who the one player will be.
