There are more rumblings suggesting that the New York Jets could benefit from having an All-Pro caliber wideout brought into their fold this summer, and one recent mock signing gives them one from the New Orleans Saints.
Pro Football Network believes that the Jets could make another splash move by acquiring Saints wideout Michael Thomas, saying this about how he’d fit in New York (h/t Kristian Dyer of USA Today’s Jets Wire):
“We’re certain [Aaron] Rodgers wouldn’t pass on the opportunity to feed Thomas the football — and he could complement Garrett Wilson.”

That’s the operative in any discussion regarding wide receivers for Rodgers to develop chemistry with. The four-time NFL MVP has been hard-nosed about who he has in his receiving corps and expects nothing but excellence from his pass-catchers.
Thomas has been part of the gold standard of wide receivers in the league for close to a decade on end and could give the Jets a reliable pair of hands in their passing attack. The 31-year-old missed seven games in 2023, yet still managed to put up a customary 11.5 receiving yards per reception and 44.8 REC yards per game with a 60.9 catch percentage.

The biggest red flag around Thomas’s name is the fact that he’s missed 47 games in the last four years due to injury and has not had a full season to prove his 1,000-yard-caliber worth in New Orleans. Nevertheless, Thomas could be a player worth looking at, though the Jets’ investment in WR Mike Williams as their No. 2 option opposite WR1 Wilson may suffice for the time being.
