Good Morning, New York Giants Fans!
Beating the Dallas Cowboys in week nine will be no easy feat, especially after coming off a disheartening loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The New York Giants need all of the help they can get, and trading for Jets’ defensive tackle Leonard Williams is part of the game-plan.
However, the more significant player that will make a return is receiver, Sterling Shepard, who has suffered two concussions this season, forcing him to miss four regular-season games. His return marks the first time rookie quarterback Daniel Jones will have all of his offensive weapons.
That means Saquon Barkley, Evan Engram, Sterling Shepard, and Golden Tate will all be on the field for a Monday night showdown against Dallas. This will be the Giants’ best opportunity to take down the Cowboys after years of inadequate play. Ultimately, it will boil down to the defense, as it usually does and a Jason Garrett led team, but Williams should help in that facet.
Being completely healthy has been a struggle for Big Blue, but featuring all of their play-makers will give Jones an advantage. One he hasn’t enjoyed through his first six starts.
How are the Cowboys looking health-wise?
Dallas has several players fighting through injuries. Several influential starters are going into the weekend with a “limited” designation. Cornerback Anthony Brown, tackle La’el Collins, tackle Cameron Fleming (DNP), guard, Zach Martin, tackle, Tyron Smith, and linebacker, Leighton Vander-Esch.
The Giants’ injury report listed only Sterling Shepard, Corey Ballentine, and Grant Haley, all of whom practices fully. This will be the first week where the Giants will have a full team, meaning there are no excuses for playing poorly on Monday night.
