Good Morning, New York Giants Fans!

There’s no rule in the books that force general manager’s in the NFL to speak publicly about their plans. There’s no exception for New York Giants GM Dave Gettleman, and expecting him to talk to the fans is a non-story.

Would we like to hear his plans for the future, and what’s going through his mind? Of course, but that could be revealing for other teams. Any factoid can be used against Gettleman if he doesn’t keep his mouth shut. Remember, Leonard Floyd? Jerry Reese went sputtering his name about, and the Chicago Bears traded up to snag him one pick for Big Blue.

While we are months away from the 2020 NFL Draft, is there anything Gettleman could say right now that would ease the pain of being 2-8? The more probable result would be him commenting and the fan-base picking apart every sentence and spinning it into a negative narrative.

Cornerback DeAndre Baker is struggling, interior lineman, Dexter Lawrence looks phenomenal, the Leonard Williams trade is still up in the air but looks fair after two weeks…what more is there to discuss? Maybe the offensive line, where Gettleman invested heavily in left tackle Nate Solder, a move that needed to be made. Imagine he didn’t sign the best tackle available during the 2018 free agency period, his head would be on a spike. All of the negatives we want an answer to have alternative realities that are far worse for the New York Giants.

The bottom line, let him work behind the scenes, we don’t need him to justify the mishaps we can see on television every Sunday. He hit on Lawrence, Saquon Barkley, Daniel Jones, Kevin Zeitler, a slew of other rookies, and we are targeting a few bad free agent signings? Remember, it’s only year two of a full-team rebuild.
