The New York Giants improved their season record to 3-11 after a Week 15 victory at home against the Miami Dolphins. New York won the game 36-20 with veteran Eli Manning starting at quarterback for the second straight week.

Manning and the Giants’ offense put together 5 touchdown drives and 412 total yards. It was an impressive performance from the team as a whole that earned them their first victory since Week 4. New York finally snapped their historic 9-game losing streak.

This win was vital for the coaching staff, the fans, and mostly Eli Manning. The Giants’ Week 15 victory improved Manning’s career record to 117-117, a perfect .500 winning percentage. In what will most likely be Eli Manning’s final start as a member of the Giants, it was heart-warming to see the franchise legend go out with a win.

Eli Manning gave a pumped-up victory speech after the Giants’ “special win” this week. Manning thanked the team for helping him get this win and expressed the brotherly love he had for his teammates. He even got them a day off work tomorrow, ending the speech with “see y’all Wednesday!”

As Pat Shurmur noted, Manning has had a historic career- he has earned “many game balls.” It was a classy move by the Giants’ head coach to give Eli the game ball after the team’s third win of the season. This is likely to be Manning’s final home start with the Giants in his 16-year career.

It is the end of an era; A historical era that blessed the Giants with 2 Super Bowls and 117 regular-season wins. Eli Manning is the team’s most honored captain. He is a franchise legend that all the young players should look up to. Eli has done everything with class and dignity throughout the duration of his career in New York/New Jersey. Eli Manning deserved every ceremonial chant, game ball, and the standing ovation that he got on Sunday.

I, along with the rest of the Giants fans, thank you, Eli, for everything you’ve done over the past decade and a half. You have always represented what it truly means to be a New York Giant. Thanks for all the wins and memories. You will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
