The New York Giants’ revamped receiving corps is expected to be one of their biggest strengths this season. The wide receivers are headlined by rookie first-round pick Malik Nabers, who is sure to grab the majority of the attention from both fans and opposing teams. However, there is another receiver on the roster with star potential who is going under the radar.
Wan’Dale Robinson named an “under-the-radar player who could be a star”
Third-year wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson is in store for a potential breakout campaign this season. He’s been steadily improving year-to-year and took a step forward in his second season. Entering year three, analysts are high on his potential to emerge as a star.
Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports named Robinson as the Giants’ “under-the-radar player who could be a star” this season:
“After quietly logging an impressive 76.1% catch rate over his first two NFL seasons, the third-year slot target is primed for even more opportunities, thanks to the addition of the explosive Malik Nabers out wide,” Benjamin wrote. “With or without Daniel Jones under center, his numbers should be on the rise.”
The addition of Nabers should serve to open things up for other playmakers in Big Blue’s offense. Robinson could be one of the biggest benefactors. Having Nabers commanding double teams on the outside should free up some space over the middle of the field for Robinson, who primarily works out of the slot.
In 2023, Robinson totaled 60 receptions for 525 yards and one touchdown. This was a solid stat line for the second-year slot receiver, but his usage could increase as the Giants shift toward a more pass-heavy approach in 2024.

The Giants sneakily have a solid receiving corps
The Giants have sneakily built a receiving corps with solid talent and depth. If Nabers is the instant star that the team expects him to be, Big Blue’s passing attack could surprise people this season. Alongside Nabers will be Darius Slayton and Jalin Hyatt on the outside. Meanwhile, Robinson is turning into a high-quality slot option. This foursome of receivers could become an impressive and highly productive group this season.
However, not everyone is convinced that this unit will be as good as advertised. Pro Football Focus recently ranked the G-Men’s corps of wideouts near the bottom of the NFL.
If the G-Men want their offense to improve, they will need their receiving corps to live up to the hype. The talent is clearly there, however, New York needs its playmakers to stay healthy and create production throughout the campaign. If the Giants’ wide receiver can live up to the hype, they could become the catalyst to a bounce-back 2024 season.
