The UFC has finalized an absolute banger in the featherweight division. ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was the first to report earlier this evening that per Dana White, top featherweight contenders Calvin Kattar (23-6) and Arnold Allen (18-1) will face off.

The two top featherweights will headline a UFC Fight Night on October 29th. For Kattar, he’s going to be looking to bounce back after a loss in his last fight. The last time we saw Kattar was back in June when he headlined a Fight Night against Josh Emmett.

While many people believe that Kattar won the fight, he ultimately lost a split decision. Prior to that decision loss, Kattar had arguably the performance of his career when he completed derailed the hype train of Giga Chikadze over five rounds.

UFC title shot on the line?

Standing in Kattar’s way in October is Arnold Allen. Allen will make the walk undefeated in the UFC at an impressive 9-0. It’s not just the fact that Allen has been perfect inside the octagon. It’s the fact that he continues to look better and better every time we see him.

The last time we saw him was at UFC London when he took on Dan Hooker. Hooker was a had risen to the status as a top contender in the lightweight division, but had decided to move back to featherweight. Well, Allen ran right through him in the first round to spoil his return to 145.

Prior to that, Allen became the first man to defeat Sodiq Yusuff in the UFC. Allen definitely looks like the kind of guy who can challenge for the featherweight title. Considering how Alexander Volkanovski has dominated most top contenders, a title shot could be on the line in this one should Allen get the win.
