Joaquin Buckley – Chris Curtis booked for UFC 282

Joaquin Buckley

Over the weekend we learned of an exciting middleweight contest that was finalized by the UFC. It was announced over the weekend that middleweights Joaquin Buckley (15-5) and “The Action Man” Chris Curtis (29-9) will battle in December.

The fight will go down at UFC 282 on December 10th. This matchup will take place on the main card of the event. Now, the main card is starting to fill up for the event, but there has not been a main event announced. While not confirmed, many are anticipating this event to be reserved for the heavyweight debut of Jon Jones.

Back to the booking, Chris Curtis will be looking to get back on track. After finding a second life in his career, Curtis made his octagon debut last year. He won his first three fights and then got a last minute fight against Jack Hermansson in London.

It was a disappointing fight for Curtis and he lost a decision. Now, he gets another tough test in Buckley, but he’s looking to show the world that he’s still a top fifteen contender.

UFC 282 Middleweight Bout

Just like Chris Curtis, Joaquin Buckley just saw his three-fight UFC winning streak come to an end. Buckley most recently fought at UFC Paris against Nassourdine Imavov. After really struggling early, Buckley came on strong to make it a competitive fight against Imavov.

Buckley lost his UFC debut against Kevin Holland. However, since that loss to Holland, he’s gone 5-2 inside the octagon. During that stretch, he had one of the greatest knockouts in UFC history when he knocked out Impa Kasanganay with an unbelievable spinning back kick.

Both of these men are desperate to get back in the win column so I’m expecting absolute fireworks when these two hook up in December.
