The New York Yankees faced travesty over the weekend when Masahiro Tanaka was struck by a line drive off the bat of Giancarlo Stanton. Tanaka laid motionless on the ground for several minutes before trainers helped him off the field under his own power.
The Yankees simply can’t manage to escape the injury bug, but luckily, Tanaka experienced concussion symptoms that have since alleviated. While he has felt the brunt of the impact on his head, it seems as if the starting pitcher will return to full health in the coming days.
However, videos quickly emerged of Tanaka being struck in the head, which Yankee players were livid over.
Aaron Judge, Gleyber Torres, and Tyler Wade all spoke out after an extended video was posted of Masahiro lying on the ground in obvious pain.
I get that everyone has a job to do but continuing to film and zoom in on someone hurt and down in the stadium doesn’t sit well with me! Doesn’t matter who it is, teammate, coach, or fan! Praying for Tanaka!

1) I understand that people are doing their job and want to show everything we are doing, I understand that, but showing that exact moment that happened with our teammate does not seem right to us, we feel terrible to see the video in each part of social media.

2) I understand that they have to write what happened but do not show that moment, Praying for Tanaka!

100%!! Prayers up for Tanaka!!?? https://t.co/ynETa3xXyX

I happen to agree with this statement made by the players, as a video watching a player motionless on the ground is simply disgusting and unprofessional.
Nonetheless, Tanaka seems as if he’ll make a full recovery, along with Judge and Stanton who’ve been battling injuries over the past two years.
