A Daily look at a summary of News and Rumors of interest for New York Yankees fans!

Aroldis Chapman: In the whole Astros cheating scandal,  Astros opponents may have been victims in the scheme, but ultimately its the opposing pitcher who suffers if Astros players knew what pitch was coming.  In the case of Aroldis Chapman, he gave up the winning run in game 6 of the 2019 ALCS at Minutemaid Park in Houston when Jose Altuve hit the walk-off home run.  Now with all the punishments that have been dealt out, Chapman is sitting back enjoying all the drama and payback.  Chapman tweeted a video of Michael Jackson eating popcorn while watching the Thriller video with the caption “me watching all the Astros cheating drama go down.”

Betters get their money back: PointsBetSportsbook tweeted out, “The Astros cheated. The Yankees lost. PointsBet is refunding ALL Yankees AL Futures and World Series Futures Bets in full!  Yep. We got you #Yankees fans!” CEO of PointsBet USA Johnny Aitken said to CBS Sports in a statement regarding the payout. “Given the latest developments
in this wild story, we think it’s only right to do our part and give back to all the Yankees bettors who now feel cheated in retrospect. We’ve always been aggressive with our Good Karma Payouts, but this one is simple.  The fallout of this scandal may linger a bit for the MLB, but we won’t let it linger for PointsBet clients.”

CC Sabathia speaks out: MLB players have been asked not to speak about the Astros scandal.  However, CC Sabathia is now retired, and he is letting his feelings be widely known.  In an expletive-laced podcast, he stated:  “We should have won the World Series. I don’t care what nobody says. And now that this happened, nobody can ever f-king tell me that we weren’t gonna win it. We should have won!”  He went on to say that the Yankees would have easily rolled over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2017 World Series.  William Parlee of EmpireSportsMedia.com says that Sabathia is being at least a little delusional.  Stating that the Yankees, regardless of the cheating that was going, had to score runs to win a series.  The Yankees only scored three runs across the four games played at Minutemaid Park.   It is not reasonable to assume the Yankees would have won scoring less than a run per game.
