On behalf of Empire Sports Media, we send our condolences to the New York Yankees family amid the passing of co-owner Hank Steinbrenner. A long-lasting illness took the life of Hank, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

Sherman mentioned that the illness was not Covid-19 related, indicating that this might have been something the 63-year old had been dealing with for quite some time. The eldest child of George Steinbrenner and general partner of the team, Hank and his brother Hal have been an integral piece of the Yankees franchise.

Hank was not alone when he passed — surround by his family, including Hal and his two sisters, Jennifer and Jessica. All are listed as chairpersons for the team with Hal being the more influential of the group.

We are sending positive energy and prayers to the Steinbrenner’s in these tough times.
