The New York Yankees came off of a nice win in the series opener of this road series against the Kansas City Royals, as a great team performance on the mound helped them secure their 47th win of the season. With Marcus Stroman taking the bump against a fellow sinkerballer in Brady Singer, it would be a warm day for baseball as these two playoff contenders did battle in Kauffman Stadium. It wasn’t a closely contested one however, as the Yankees battered and bruised Brady Singer and the Royals while their pitching staff worked out of some jams to keep Kansas City at bay.

With three different home runs and 10 runs of offense, the Yankees would get a comfortable 10-1 win over the Royals and secure at least a series split here in KC.

It would be another game for the Yankees where they would score some first-inning runs, as Anthony Volpe tripled and Juan Soto walked to set up Aaron Judge in the top of the first. He flicked a single into right field to make it 1-0, and Giancarlo Stanton hit a dribbler that resulted in a play at the plate, but Juan Soto beat it out to make it a 2-0 game. It looked like Brady Singer was settling in, as he fired two scoreless frames after, but the offense punched him in the mouth in the fourth inning.

Gleyber Torres rifled a single into left field to make it a 3-0 contest, and Austin Wells delivered a death blow to Kansas City with a three-run bomb to centerfield that gave the Yankees a six-run lead. Oswaldo Cabrera ended Brady Singer’s night in the sixth inning with an RBI single, and in the seventh inning, the Bronx Bombers came out in full force to put this game away for good.

Aaron Judge, who is the runaway AL MVP right now, blasted a two-run shot into left-center, his 25th dinger of the season, continuing what has been a historic campaign that looks to surpass even his 2022 season. Giancarlo Stanton rifled a ball into centerfield as well for his 16th of the year, giving the Yankees a 10-0 lead. While the Royals added a run in the eighth, the pitching staff was excellent all-around.

Marcus Stroman gutted through 5.2 innings of scoreless baseball while Ron Marinaccio provided some much-needed innings as he allowed one run over 2.1 innings with three strikeouts. Victor Gonzalez finished the game off with a scoreless ninth inning, and your New York Yankees are now 48-21 on the season, winners of three-straight games.

Cody Poteet will take the mound for the Yankees tomorrow, but the Kansas City Royals have yet to formally announce who their starter will be. The Yankees will look to take the series against a Royals team that has been remarkable at home, with first pitch at 8:10 PM EST, but it will be aired on Amazon Prime instead of YES Network.
