After just two games, New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton is on pace for 60 home runs the season. Note the sarcasm. Nonetheless, the Yankees were trailing 3-1 against the Washington Nationals on Saturday evening when Stanton stepped up to the plate.
After slimming down a bit and finding his vision, Stanton launched a homer nearly 500-feet all the way to the walkway in left field.
The Yankees started off the game down 3-0 after James Paxton left Michael King with a bases-loaded situation and no outs.
This was Stanton’s second home run of the season, both coming in timely situations to put the Yankees in an attacking position.
