The coming days will be tough, strenuous, borderline depressing, but at least we can find solace in the fact that we eventually will witness live New York Yankees baseball. Fans would often fill the days of no baseball with other sports like Football, Hockey, Basketball, Soccer — but for the first time in who knows how long, they have all been suspended due to the Corona Virus, which has swept across the globe.

So, what should we do in the meantime?

Here’s a comprehensive list of activities to engage in while we wait for New York Yankees baseball to return:

1.) Play MLB the Show

If you have an Xbox or PS4, MLB The Show is about as real as you can get to watching baseball and enjoying the beautiful game. Many have resorted to the virtual activity to hold over their needs, and I must say, it’s worth every second and penny.

2.) Spend more time with your family

Sports being canceled has really opened my eyes to how much time I could have spent with my family and interacting with people that mean something to me. Take a second to appreciate everyone around you, as scrolling Twitter and Instagram have become far less critical at this point in time.

3.) Engage in other hobbies/challenges

The amount of time a fan engages in sports is astronomical, whether it be through social media or watching live/recorded events. Maybe you enjoy playing the guitar, reading books, or writing — try those brain-stimulating ideas out; you might gain more personally from them.

4.) Wait patiently for sports to return

I assume that most of us, including myself, will engage in this exciting activity. Waiting patiently for sports to return seems like the most logical move; however, we can use all of the ideas above to hold us over in the meantime.

As a sports fan and writer, I’m currently looking for new hobbies and things to do! Please leave any ideas in the comments below! Your friend, Alex.
