The New York Yankees are heading into the 2020 season as heavy favorites to win the World Series regardless if you like it or don’t. The signing of Gerrit Cole made the already talented Yankee team become something that looks frankly unfair. If you take a look at the roster as a whole, the Yankees haven’t been this solid since possibly the ’09 season.

There’s a ton of talent on the Yankee 40-man and the decisions of who makes the 26-man will be tough. Here’s what my guess as to what the lineup and pitching rotation will be.

Lineup

  1. LeMahieu – 2B
  2. Judge – RF
  3. Torres – SS
  4. Stanton – LF
  5. Andujar – DH
  6. Sanchez – C
  7. Voit – 1B
  8. Urshela – 3B
  9. Gardner – CF

From top to bottom, this lineup is loaded with a vast range of talent and obviously, a ton of power. No matter who’s on the mound for the opposing team, there’s not one hitter that they can lay off on.

Rotation

  1. Cole
  2. Severino
  3. Paxton
  4. Tanaka
  5. Montgomery

I left JA Happ off for a reason, I don’t think we’ll be watching Happ pitch in pinstripes next season. I feel that there’s not a fit for him in New York and the Yankees have already noticed that.

Deivi Garcia is also someone I believe can take a crack at the Yankee rotation for next year. There’s some concern with his control, however, they’ll never know if they don’t give him a shot. I believe that with how much hype there is to his name and how much potential he’s shown, it wouldn’t hurt to give the young 20-year-old a shot.
