Even though the New York Yankees didn’t achieve their ultimate goal last season of winning number 28, they were still one of the best ball clubs in the Major Leagues. With the acquisition of Gerrit Cole, that was pretty much the cherry on top. The Yankee roster and lineup is essentially done and ready to go for the 2020 season.

This is one of the first offseasons I can remember in several years that was locked and loaded this early. Usually, Brian Cashman and the front office is working up until January or February trying their luck at free agents and analyzing possible trades. But it seems that this year they know who the team is and is ready to go.

The Yankee rotation doesn’t really need another addition. Gerrit Cole, Luis Severino, James Paxton, and Masahiro Tanaka are an elite squad. This kind of talent is more than good to take the Yankees to the playoffs again, and are the heavy favorites for making the fall classic.

Except for a few positional decisions, the Yankee lineup is loaded with big talent. Given that everyone stays healthy this season, a lineup that features Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, Gary Sanchez, Luke Voit, Gleyber Torres, and Miguel Andujar every day is a terror to opposing pitchers.

I read a stat somewhere that said Gerrit Cole didn’t lose a game last year where his offense provided at least five runs. The Yankee offense averaged 5.8 runs per game last year so this lineup with him on the mound is deadly to opposing teams.

I fully expect the New York Yankees to win anywhere between 105-110 games next year. However, it’s important to remember that baseball is a weird sport and crazy things can happen. But if everything goes to plan and the Yankees don’t suffer any major setbacks, this club has a  big chance at winning number 28 next year.
