Baseball America has reported that the New York Yankees have signed outfielder Rosell Herrera.  Herrera started out as an international free agent from the Dominican Republic and was signed by the Rockies, July 2, 2009, and has played in the major leagues for the Kansas City Royals in 2018 and for the Florida Marlins in 2019.  He has a career batting average of .225 and with 3 home runs.

Apparently, he was signed by the Yankees in December but it was not publicized.  He will report to spring training in Tampa, Florida.  He will bolster an outfield that is presently lacking Aaron Hicks who will be returning midseason after having had Tommy John surgery.  Just like Gio Urshela, Mike Ford and Mike Tauchman, Herrera may be one of these out of nowhere standouts in the coming season.
