The New York Yankees are scheduled to face off against the Boston Red Sox in the final game of a four-game series on Monday evening. However, the weather could become a factor, with rain expected to start at 6 PM until 1 AM.

With scattered thunderstorms present in the Bronx, the Yankees might have to delay and/or postpone the game against Boston. Luckily for the Red Sox, getting out of New York couldn’t come fast enough, after they’ve been dominated in four games against an injury-riddled Yankee team.

How has the series gone so far fo the New York Yankees?

On Sunday evening, the Yankees overcame the Red Sox 4-2, extending their record to 15-6. On the night, starter J.A. Happ finally had a convincing and motivating performance. Over 5.2 innings, he only allowed one earned run and struck out three batters. Offensively, slugger Mike Ford was the catalyst. Ford single to center in the first inning, driving in Gio Urshela, and hit a two-run homer in the third inning, driving in Gleyber Torres.

The Yankees are scheduled to start Jordan Montgomery against Boston on Monday. Through three starts this year, Montgomery hosts a 5.17 ERA, allowing nine earned runs over 15.2 innings.

The Yankees are currently proceeding without Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and DJ LeMahieu. They have supplemented their losses with players like Clint Frazier, Tyler Wade, and Mike Ford. Luckily, facing off against a lackluster Boston team has given them time to heal and still win games. However, the Tampa Bay Rays will travel to town on Tuesday, posing a far more intimidating threat than Boston.

To start off the series against Tampa, the Yankees will feature Masahiro Tanaka on Tuesday and Gerrit Cole on Wednesday. Having their best pitchers available will bode well for the Bombers, but they desperately need their offense to continue performing, even without some of their star players.
