NEW YORK YANKEESMike Tauchman was sidelined approximately five weeks ago with a calf injury. He was placed on the injured list to expected to miss up to six weeks. He’s rehabbed himself back to a condition where he’s able to play major league baseball again.

This is not an article to come after Giancarlo Stanton, but the guy is an injury timebomb. I want him on the team every day of the year, but when he’s healthy. Right now he’s just wasting a spot from a guy who could potentially help the team.

Brian Cashman and Aaron Boone should consider removing Stanton due to this injury and adding Tauchman to his spot. This would add another lefty to the already predominantly right-handed Yankee lineup, which would give the opposing pitcher diversity among the hitters.

Even if Tauchman isn’t in the lineup, he’s a guy that brings life to the dugout and the clubhouse. He’s the biggest and loudest cheerleader on the team and always seems to be going crazy at any chance he has.

Not to mention, Tauchman is a BEAST. He’s unbelievable in the outfield and has some pop too – 13 home runs on the year with 47 runs batted in. Tauchman slashed .277/.361/.504 during the regular season.

Every rally or big inning the New York Yankees had this season, Tauchman seemed to almost always be in the middle of it. This is a guy who could have a HUGE postseason for the Yankees. A contact hitter, with the ability to hit singles and doubles – extremely valuable in the postseason.
