MLB sets new dates for Yankees V Mets postponed series

The New York Yankees were scheduled to play the Mets over the weekend in a four-game subway series, but due to positive COVID-19 tests on the Mets’ side, the games were postponed. Luckily, the Mets escaped with just one player and one coach coming down with a virus, with the remainder of the team remaining healthy.

The Yankees have luckily been able to avoid any complications, with multiple scheduled games having to be postponed up to this point. However, the league has rescheduled the games missed between the two teams.

The games will occur on August 28 and August 30 — two double-headers. They will also play one game at Citi Field on September 3.

The Yankees will face off against the Atlanta Braves in a two-game series starting Tuesday, having recently swept them about two weeks ago.

The time off this past weekend gives players like Aaron Judge plenty for rehabilitation reps. He previously picked up a grade-1 calf strain against the Tampa Bay Rays on the Astroturf at Tropicana Field. Along with Judge, Giancarlo Stanton also went down with a hamstring injury.

If you thought those two were the only injuries picked up by the Yankees, think again. DJ LeMahieu, Zack Britton, Gleyber Torres, Kyle Higashioka, James Paxton, and more are all out with individual ailments. The expectation is that the team will gain back most of these players within the next three weeks.
