“We just have to get back to work. We started the game slowly, got in a big hole, fought to get out of it and then fell back in the hole the second half. We’ve got to regroup,†Thibodeau said. “I think as a team we’re just not shooting well right now. Sometimes you’ve got to work your way through those things.â€
The New York Knicks are young and have time on their side:
This loss isn’t the end for New York, as they still have a long season ahead of them. As the team continues to develop chemistry with one another, I expect players like Barrett to increase their efficiency. This year, he’s averaged 16.5 points per game, 7.4 rebounds, and 3.3 assists. He’s been adequate with the ball in his hands regarding turnovers, only averaging 1.7 per game over 38.2 minutes.
Ultimately, as long as Barrett struggles from the field, he will never take that next step forward to make him an above-average player in the NBA. As I stated before, he shows flashes of greatness on occasion, but it is a rare occurrence. Luckily, Barrett is still extremely young at 20 years old, so he has plenty of time to reach his potential.
