New York Knicks new star Julius Randle ready to dominate

New York Knicks sign Julius Randle.

While the New York Knicks missed out on Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving this off-season, they managed to secure prolific score Julius Randle, formally of the New Orleans Pelicans.

Randle wasn’t the first or second option during the free agency, but the Knicks will have to settle with the power forward as their number one player. He averaged 21.4 points, 3.1 assists, and 8.7 rebounds per game in 2018. He is a solid player that can help elevate the entire team and make them a competitive group. While playoff contention might be too far off in the distance, Julius will certainly not allow another 17-win season.

New York Knicks signing Julius Randle is handling the pressure well:

Blocking out all the noise from enraged Knicks fans due to their failure to bring in a superstar player, Randle has done an excellent job showing that he is all about the team and ready to perform during the 2019-20 season. The Knicks will need him and every last bit of his scoring productivity if they wish to be successful. Their team is still young, packed full of inexperienced players like RJ Barrett, Kevin Knox, Mitchell Robinson, etc.

“I’m just going to bring it every night, man,” he said in an interview with Ian Begley of SNY. “I’m not going to promise stats, I’m not gonna promise anything. Just bring it every night and do everything I can to help my team win. And I’m going to get better as a player. You’re never going to have to question my commitment, my effort. You’re never going to have to question where my heart is. It’s for this team, it’s for this city, and that’s what it’s about.”

That’s the voice of a leader and a player that knows the expectations of playing in New York City. He’s doing the right thing by not attempting to guarantee anything and act like the king of MSG before evens stepping foot on the historic floor of the Mecca. Despite being a consolation prize in free agency, he will be a force for the Knicks this upcoming season.
