Following the announcement that Knicks‘ head coach Tom Thibodeau would sign a three-year extension, the team has also added Mark Bryant, formerly of the Detroit Pistons, to an assistant coach role, per Ian Begley of SNY.

Bryant’s Bring Expertise to the Knicks

Bryant is an extremely talented coach, specifically known for his expertise in developing big men. His experience includes 15 years playing in the NBA and several years as an assistant coach for the Mavericks, Magic, Thunder, Suns, Pistons, and Nets. His latest journey brings him to the Knicks, where he could significantly impact a team that needs younger players to step up.

Filling the Void

With Isaiah Hartenstein departing for Oklahoma City and the Knicks having Mitchell Robinson as their primary starter, developing Jericho Sims may become an essential piece of the puzzle. Bryant’s arrival could greatly benefit Sims, providing him with the guidance needed to excel and contribute at a high level.

High Expectations for the Season

This addition comes at a crucial time as the Knicks have championship aspirations this year. Bryant’s ability to mentor and develop the team’s younger talent could be pivotal in achieving their goals.
